Our SPOOKY Halloween!

This year we got double the fun of halloween by celebrating both Saturday and Sunday night. First, on Saturday, we went to trunk or treat at FACS. The kids enjoyed the inflatables and trunk or treating around the cars to fill their baskets of goodies! Caleb got to play with some friends from his class which made it even more fun! Buzz and Woody were so excited about their costumes and I must say they looked adorable! Sunday, night time could not get here fast enough as we waited for the sun to go down to start roaming the neighborhood! Our friend, Zack, got to go with us and believe me they will remember the night! Our trick or treating started like any other and about half way through we decided to try the scary house! Last year, this house totally scared the kids and they cried and cried after they left it! Well, Caleb decided to be brave and scope it out again! Wish I had a picture but my camera was out of battery. Anyways, imagine this... a fence around the front yard with gravestones, eery noises and smoke going everywhere. As the kids rounded the fence to walk up the door they were leery but kept going. As they knocked on the door and waited, all of the sudden this deep voice yells, "Who's at my door?" Caleb and Zack screamed and ran for their lives as Robby, Joey and I died laughing. Caleb cried and did not want to go back! So after we explained that halloween is all pretend and there is nothing to be afraid of, we kept on to the next row of houses. We went to a few more normal ones and then after that headed to the next house. No big decorations or anything, just one hot pink sign on the door that said, See the scarecrow for candy. So, imagine....in the front yard, a small bench with a scarecrow lying in it and a basket of candy on top. Zack didn't know whether to go or not. I told Caleb to just go get the candy out of basket. So they both walked up and as they were reaching for the basket, the scarecrow yells, BOO! It was a real person!!! They screamed, again, and ran for their lives and we just laughed and laughed! Joey went back up to get the kids candy and the guy whispered, "Sorry." You would have never known it was a real person. He had netting over his face and everything! I don't see how someone can sit uncomfortably for a few hours on halloween just to scare some kids! I guess some people live for pranks! It was funny to us adults, but not to the kids!
